It’s easy to generalize this specific area to feel unlovable.

That is where addictive behaviors like shopping and overeating come into play. Emotional eating soothes and protects us from negative feelings.

If you don’t feel lovable, you look outside yourself to feel good.

To counteract those feelings, tap on loving all of yourself and accepting all of your feelings often. These statements can be incorporated into the EFT setup statements.

Even though I have all of these feelings, I choose to love and accept who I am.

Even though I have all of these feelings, I choose to love and accept every part of me.

Even though I don’t have everything the way I want it right now, I choose to let go and love myself anyway.

Even though I’m not perfect, I choose to accept myself and my imperfections.

Loving yourself and feeling lovable are closely related to feeling worthy of reaching the goal.

Even if you don’t fully believe the acceptance statement, EFT works on the emotional conflict.

If you don’t feel worthy and lovable deep down, then it may be hard to sustain the success, attract the resources you need and be as persistent as you may need to be to reach your weight loss goal.

Even though I’m not sure I deserve it, I choose to love and accept myself anyway.

Even though I don’t feel worthy, I love and accept myself anyway.

Then work on specific events that may have triggered feelings of being unworthy or unloved, and you are well on your way to feeling GREAT about yourself.

EFT for anxiety (which is a huge factor in weight loss) can be extremely helpful. Whoopie Goldberg, for instance, was recently treated for fear of flying using Thought Field Therapy.

While they used many techniques, including NLP, the TFT tapping was prominently discussed as being very helpful. The treatment also included LOGIC, such as a pilot explaining to her that “there is no bad turbulence – ever – it’s not going to bring down the plane.” They also included explanations about the safety of aviation and how much aviation had evolved.

The interesting part is what occurred that triggered Whoopie’s fear in the first place.

She witnessed a mid-air collision in 1978 – THAT was the precipitating event.

For the treatment to be successful, it is critical to neutralize the emotions associated with that event.

Witnessing a mid-air collision is what we call a Specific Event

Luckily, Whoopie knew what the specific event was – it was easily identifiable. It’s a great example of how a phobia can be created from a single triggering event, often occurring in childhood. Your subconscious mind stores every memory AND every emotion and thought that you have about those memories. EFT clears the excessive emotions around those events.

No amount of logic will help when you have a specific event that is lingering in your memory.

To find the specific events, think about what events occurred that you think may have contributed to the EFT weight loss symptoms you have now. And you can always use Gary Craig’s revealing question – If you had your life to live over, what events would you have preferred to skip? Then apply EFT to your thoughts and feelings around those events. Happy tapping!
